Domaine Joblot, Givry 1er Cru 2017 Clos Marole

The first bottled of the Joblot Premier Cru wines, the Clos Marole, always shows blacker fruit character even though it is exactly the same clone. 2017s are vibrantly fruity and the Marole is no exception. Quite forward, when we opened a bottle to try it again shortly after it arrived in the UK, it was finished quite quickly (usually, in these circumstances, it makes it to the following day at least). A very attractive wine.

Drinking Dates: 2020 to 2030

Cépagement: 100% Pinot Noir

Upbringing: Aged in Allier oak barrels (2/3 new) from tonnelliere Francois Frères for 14 months, followed by four months in bottle prior to release.

ABV: 13.5%
