Chardonnay is without doubt the world's most popular and versatile white grape variety. From Burgundy's legendary vineyards to acclaimed New World regions, there are many different expressions of the grape from crisp, mineral-driven to rich, buttery styles. Our preference is (generally) for the latter. Flavours can range from citrus, green apple and stone fruit to vanilla, toast and tropical notes. Wines tend to be medium bodied and should have balanced acidity; the best have good ageing potential. They pair well with a wide variety of foods, especially seafood, poultry, creamy pasta, and soft cheeses. well made is capable of delivering complexity, elegance, and remarkable food-pairing versatility regardless of price. |
