Vermentino
![]() |
Vermentino is the signature white grape of Italy's coastal regions; inland in Piedmont it is called Favourita, in neighbouring Liguria they call it Pigato and in southern France it is formally known as Rolle although it is increasingly labelled there as Vermentino. Whatever, it has vibrant, mineral-driven character, crisp, refreshing acidity with bright citrus and green apple flavours. It offers minerality and can be quite saline with aromas of white flowers and garrigue. Seafood, shellfish, grilled fish and light pasta dishes all pair well with it, whatever you want to call it. |
