Sauvignon Blanc

Along with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc is one of the world's most popular white grape varieties. It makes refreshingly crisp, zesty wines with vibrant citrus flavours of lime, grapefruit, and lemon. Some wines show herbaceous and grassy notes with hints of gooseberry and passion fruit. The best examples from France come from the Central Vineyards in the Loire Valley - Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé - and are more mineral driven than New World examples and can even take oak-ageing. They are good with goat's cheese, seafood, salads and some (not too spicy) Asian cuisine.
