Domaine Brusset, Gigondas 2013 'Le Grand Montmirail'
| Drinking remarkably well already, this is a full, rich, modern Gigondas (not so much rusticity), which oozes black cherry liqueur wrapped in velvety tannins. Good length. Even better after several years. |

Critic Reviews:
'The 2013 vintage was marked by coulure, resulting in a small crop. This is very full-bodied. It still has succulent fruit on the palate, mostly strawberry, and it is taking on woody herbs, smoke, worked leather and menthol. Mature now but won't fall apart any time soon. Food-friendly, great price'. 91/100 (Matt Walls, Decanter)
"Impressive dark fruit, chocolate, wood smoke and leather-like notes in its medium-bodied, firm, masculine personality. I like the fruit here but it should benefit from a year or two in bottle>" 90/100 Jeb Dunnock (Wine Advocate) |
