750ml
A first for Châteauneuf-du-Pape? Almost certainly. This is a Blanc de Noirs Châteauneuf, a white wine made from (mostly) black grapes, in this case Grenache and Syrah. Also multi-vintage: 2016-2018-2020-2021. Crunchy fruit on the nose with a full, crisp palate. Intriguing and delicious.
Drinking Dates: 2022 to 2028
Cépagement: 40% Grenache noir, 20% Syrah, 10% Grenache Fris, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Roussanne, 10% Grenache blanc
Soil: Limestone
Upbringing: Early harvest. Grapes are de-stemmed and crushed then put in vats for draining then settling for severals days to allow the pigments to form into sediment. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats and no ageing in wood. There is also no batonnage in order to maintain a perfect level of acidity.
ABV: 13.5%
