Domaine Brusset, Rasteau 2020 'Bastide'

One of our wines of the year (2025), this ripe blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre is coming together well (but can go the distance) with its roasted red fruits, vanilla and pepper on the nose. The palate is soft and heady with black fruit, cocoa, great texture and a dense finish.

Cépagement: Mourvèdre and Grenache

Upbringing: 90% in stainless steel, 10% in Foudres. Ageing for 6 months before bottling.

ABV: 13.5%

"Tasted blind. Blackish crimson. Round with rose-petal and cornichon aromas (an unusual combination!). Fun and flattery with relaxed winemaking. Appetising, dry finish. But no great concentration." 16/20 (jancisrobinson.com)
