One of our wines of the year (2025) for its sheer drinkability and wonderful maturity at 16 years old. Very concentrated and textured with excellent balance. Feet firmly in Bordeaux, head somewhere in the New World making this wine very approachable at a young age but with the ability to develop well in time. This is classic St-Emilion Grand Cru, offering good red cherry/plummy/black fruit with lovely smooth, ripe tannins. Generous finish. Was £33
Drinking Dates: 2015 to 2030
Cépagement: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc (45hl/ha)
Upbringing: Matured 12 months in oak barrels
ABV: 14%
Critic reviews:
'Concentrated, dark wine. It has serious weight and a dry core of tense tannins. The fruit is floral, full of black currant acidity and black cherry flavors.' 90/100 (Wine Enthusiast)

'Rich and fruity. Lots of pleasure and almost ready! Maybe not for the long term, and not super concentrated, but lots of fun. And a friendly price. Clean but opulent. What more do you want?'  16.5/20 (Jancis Robinson MW)
