Château Teyssier, St-Emilion Grand Cru 2009

Very concentrated and textured with excellent balance. Feet firmly in Bordeaux, head somewhere in the New World making this wine very approachable at a young age but with the ability to develop well in time. This is classic St-Emilion Grand Cru, offering good red cherry/plummy/black fruit with lovely smooth, ripe tannins. Generous finish.
Drinking Dates: 2015 to 2030
Cépagement: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc (45hl/ha)
Upbringing: Matured 12 months in oak barrels
ABV: 14%
Critic reviews:
'Concentrated, dark wine. It has serious weight and a dry core of tense tannins. The fruit is floral, full of black currant acidity and black cherry flavors.' 90/100 (Wine Enthusiast)

'Rich and fruity. Lots of pleasure and almost ready! Maybe not for the long term, and not super concentrated, but lots of fun. And a friendly price. Clean but opulent. What more do you want?'  16.5/20 (Jancis Robinson MW)
