Tasting Notes: An almost pure Grenache cuvee which Ciaràn describes as his Châteauneuf. The 2009 Ventoux “Seraphin” certainly has depth and length and plenty of structure. The fruit is, as expected from the Grenache, spicy sweet cherry with just a hint of blacker fruits from the splash of Syrah. It is not a world away from some other (almost) pure, old-vine Grenache wines I have tasted (and bought) from Chateauneuf. | Drinking Dates: 2014 to 2019 | Cépagement: 95% Grenache, 5% Syrah | Upbringing: The Grenache is aged in stainless steel, the Syrah in oak. | ABV: 14% |
