Tasting Notes: The crunchy fruit of Girardin's white Santenay has more in common with the tartness of a good Chablis than with the Montrachet or Meursault wines but it is nonetheless attractive for that. Quite a lot of citrus character.

| Drinking Dates: 2021 to 2026 | Cépagement: 100% Chardonnay | Upbringing: Aged 80% in stainless steel and 20% in oak barrels. | ABV: 13% | Critic Reviews: Quite a plump nose and light smoky fruit with a hint of grapefruit peel on the finish. Clean and bright even if not the most distinctive, nor particulalry savoury, white burgundy. The lightest of grips on the finish. Attractive current sipping with or without food.' 16/20 ( Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com)
'Lots going on, on the palate: pear, white blossom, acacia, a touch of honey and nougat. The palate has a soft texture with ripe apricot fruit and the classic touch of grassiness on the finish. Impeccable extra-dry style'. 91/100 (Richard Baudins, Decanter) |
