Tasting Notes: Concentrated and textured with excellent balance. Feet firmly in Bordeaux, head somewhere in the New World making this wine very approachable at a young age but with the ability to develop well in time. A touch of new oak layered over the plummy fruit. The 2007 is drinking well already with a lovely balanced richness. The Cabernet Franc stands out well. | Drinking Dates: 2009 to 2015 | Cépagement: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc | Soil: St Suplice de Faleyrens and Vignonet | Upbringing: 12 months in oak barrels | ABV: 13% | Critic Reviews: "Fresh, medium-bodied, earthy flavours redolent of notes of cherries, black currants, and loamy soil emerge from this elegant, charming, round 2007." 87/100 (Parker) | Food: Classic Bordeaux combinations (roast beef or lamb, for example) certainly work but because of the up-front style of the wine it can take on a wide range of foods. |
