Tasting Notes: Good fruity nose of black cherry and spice with hints of tar follows through well on the palate which has good weight and balance. Forward, fruity and spicy with a lovely freshness - one to enjoy whilst waiting for the bigger guns to come round.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2021 to 2026 | Cépagement: 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault (30+ year-old vines, 35hl/ha)) | Upbringing: Hand-picked, severe selection, crushing, destalking, cold pre-fermentation and separate fermentation for each variety for 12 days with pigeage and temperature control. Aged for 10 months, 70% in vats, 30% in 3 or 4 year-old oak barrels | ABV: 14% | Critic Reviews: ' A tomato-leaf note alongside liquorice, menthol and crushed blackcurrant. Very young and needs time to express itself as it feels very tight, perhaps lacking a little freshness to keep it zippy through the mid palate.' 15.5/20, Alistair Cooper MW (jancisrobinson.com) |
