Domaine Joblot 2016 En Primeur offerMore information about the estate and the wines (including older vintages) can be found here. 2016 was a fabulous vintage in the Chalonnaise, one which any fan of Burgundy should consider. Whereas the northern Cote d'Or region was mixed (admittedly with some exceptional wines produced albeit at extremely high prices), the Chalonnaise was more consistent and the good news is that prices remain far more stable here. Domaine Joblot remains a leader in the region with a selection of terroir-driven Pinots that are world class. Indeed, it is the best the Chalonnaise has to offer. Year after year, Jean-Marc and his daughter Juliette make a range of 5 reds and 3 whites, mostly from Premier Cru vineyards, which are consistently excellent and show why Burgundy at its best is so very good. Clives Coates puts it unequivocally: 'This is Givry's best estate' putting it down to controlled harvests, old vines and sophisticated use of oak. Jasper Morris MW describes this estate as 'a leader in Givry'. Wines are priced in Bond (IB) as duty, VAT and any onward delivery charges are not due until the wine has landed in the UK
