This is a young company - the vineyards were planted as recently as 2001 but exposure is excellent (South-South-West) and the care taken by the family in perfecting their wines means that already they are very good examples. Unusually for the area, the Gavi vineyard is a single vineyard, just 25 miles from the sea which means it benefits from the sea breeze giving the wines delicacy as well as intensity. The iron-rich soils are worked by Lorenzo whilst his brother Niccolo looks after the business side of things. The family has 7 hectares of Cortese with the potential to produce 70,000 bottles of Gavi each year. However, for now, 10,000 bottles is the production with the rest, from vines still too young to be sufficiently interesting for their own label, sold off in bulk for supermarket bottlings. As the vines age and the business grows, more Gavi will be produced. Additionally, there are 3 ha more producing Piemonte Barbera.
