Tasting Notes: From some of the Ventoux' oldest Syrah vines, this is spicy and peppery with hints of liquorice and intense aromas of black fruit jam. Silky and full-bodied ending with spicy and vanilla aromas. This has come together fantastically well to present a full-on black-fruited wine which can rival many more expensive wines from the north.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2021 to 2030 | Cépagement: 90% Syrah, 10% Grenache (45-year-old vines) | Soil: Gravelly and chalky | Upbringing: Intense and long maceration. The temperature during fermentation is kept under 28° to extract more colour. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels. | ABV: 14.5% | Critic Reviews: 'The Syrah is practically the work of a soloist (90%) in this cuvée guided by a very discreet breeding. On the nose, the red fruits are intricate with complexity, enhanced with a hint of leather. Powerful and ample, superbly balanced and persistent, the mouth reveals aromas of cherry within a round flesh, supported by tannins which keep their silky texture until the finish.'
