Tasting Notes: Sweet red/black fruit with decent depth of character. Classic Grenache. Some garrigue notes. Really good weight for this level. Warming and inviting. Simple but effective.
| Drinking Dates: 2020 to 2025 | Cépagement: 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault | Upbringing: Destemmed, 2-3 week vinification. The Grenache is fermented with pumping overs, Syrah & Cinsault are fermented with cap punching. Aged in steel vats for 6-7 months. Bottled unfined, filtered. | ABV: 15% | Critic Reviews: John Livinstone-Learmonth (drinkrhone.com):
2009 - Red-purple robe. Black cherry and blackberry air, licorice alongside. Black fruit on the palate has garrigue herbal touches – it runs well, ends freshly. Good, drinkable wine with substance, has a local, flinty end, is not got up at all. Marks for authenticity, STGT wine.
2005 - Bright, expressive nose led by bouncy black cherry, plus some herbs. The palate holds direct, well-sculpted fruit, really good fruit. It is clear and persistent. The fruit is a winner, clear as a bell. “On this, we seek fruit that is supple and agreeable, say for the summertime. This has always been open,” Jean Steinmaier. To 2011. |
