Tasting Notes: Along with two other leading winemakers from the region, Pierre formed Vins de Vienne to reinstate vineyards at Seyssuel where vines had flourished in Roman times (hence naming the wine after the Roman senator from Vienne). Together they farm 3 hectares but Pierre has a hectare of his own which he farms with passion to make this exceptional wine. It is anticipated that the wines from this area will get full appellation status – as Côtes de Seyssuel - in the coming years, putting them on a par with Côte Rôtie, at which time expect prices to rocket. The wine is incredibly layered but needs a little longer to come together.
