Tasting Notes: Very left-bank Bordeaux in style, not surprising given the dominance of Cabernet in the blend (and the fact that the clones come from First Growth Bordeaux estates) but there is a distinctive Languedoc character too, presumably from the non-Bordeaux varietals in this wine.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2022 to 2030 | Cépagement: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% other varietals | Upbringing: 16 months in oak barrel (10% new) | ABV: 13.5% | Critic Reviews: 'A slightly leafy edge to the cassis fruit, pure and dark and fragrant with a hint of graphite. Deep cherry red. Lively with cassis and a touch of red fruits too. Smooth, rounded and surprisingly approachable, though Samuel says the first three years the wines are open and then they close down for the next three. Fresh and leafy on the finish. 17/20 (jancisrobinson.com) |
