Tasting Notes: One of our personal favourites, formerly 'Les Chabriles' but for the last few years renamed simply 'Vieilles Vignes', this is a Grenach/Syrah blend that drinks well when the Grenache dominates in its youth but grows over a period of time with the Syrah taking over. The 2019 has a well defined nose that follows through to a lovely palate of sweet black fruits with a velvety texture. Good body, finishes well.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2021 to 2027 | Cépagement: 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah (28hl/ha). | Upbringing: 100% hand-picked and selected. Destalking, no yeast-added, cold pre-fermentation during 3 weeks with daily "pigeage" and temperatures maintained at 31°C. Matured in three-year-old demi-muids for a year. No filtering. | ABV: 14.5% | Critic Reviews: 'This has bags of liquorice root, garrigue, thyme and black olive. Chalky fine tannins are well judged, there is good freshness behind it and a ripe fruit core. ' 15.5/20, Alistair Cooper MW (jancisrobinson.com)
