Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet red in colour; the nose is richly complex and intensely floral with violets and roses, with very crisp red fruits (raspberry and strawberry), together with notes of leather and spices including black pepper and cloves, and liquorice. The wine is full and mellow, well balanced, with a nice tannic structure that promises a great future. It’s a Barbaresco that perfectly combines finesse and power.

100% Nebbiolo (planted 1960-1965) grown at 230-300 metres above sea level near to Barbaresco village.
Grapes are harvested in early October. Fermentation and Maceration take place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures not exceeding 30-32°C for a period of 18-22 days. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is racked and undergoes a malolactic fermentation, which normally lasts a month. The wines is aged 12-18 months in oak barrels (30hl), then in concrete and steel tanks for 12 months and then in bottle before release, 3 years after the harvest.
Critic Reviews:
'Underbrush, truffle, ripe red berry, violet and pipe tobacco aromas emerge on this beautiful, structured red. The delicious, full-bodied palate shows ripe black cherry, fleshy raspberry, star anise, ground pepper and clove framed in ripe, velvety tannins. A generous, gorgeous wine.' 95/100 (Wine Enthusiast)
Pasta dishes with game sauces, roast and braised red meat, wid boar stew, mature and blue cheeses. Superb with dishes enriched with Alba white truffle.

You must be aged 18 or over to purchase wine.
