Tasting Notes: Walnuts, dried fruit aromas and chocolate on the palate. Incredibly long with constantly evolving aromatics of chocolate, coffee grounds, roasted caramel and forest undergrowth.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2017 to 2040+ | Cépagement: 90 % Grenache Noir, 10 % Grenache Gris. | Soil: Schist | Upbringing: The Solera method entails the use of rows of barrels stacked one upon the other. Each row represents a vintage and can include up to 10 years. The wine to be bottled is taken from the bottom row (the oldest), on the floor, with a maximum of 30% from each barrel. This is replaced with wine from the row above and so on. The solera at Domaine Pages was started in 1921 and continued until 1962 when it was forgotten about until Pierre Gaillard bought the estate and discovered this magnificent wine. | ABV: 18.5% |
