Tasting Notes: This 2009 has the classic Usseglio nose of herbs and cherry liqueur, a lovely mouthfeel which is not overdone and plenty of red/black fruit. The tannins are fine and well balanced and the wine is clearly going to develop well over the decade.
All wines from this estate | Drinking Dates: 2016 to 2026 | Cépagement: 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 6% Syrah, 2% each Cinsault and Counoise | Upbringing: 3 week fermentation in cement vats where it remains for another 10 weeks for malolactic fermentation before being transferred to oak casks for 12 months. Bottled unfiltered | ABV: 14.5% | Critic Reviews: 'Rich and rampant on the nose. Exceptionally alluring. Well balanced and savoury with the (considerable) tannins kept well in check. Very snazzy and polished but lots of delivery of flavour.' 18/20 ( Jancis Robinson MW)
