Tasting Notes:
Just down the hill from Serradenari, by the truffle forest and overlooking the plains across to the Alps, is the tiny vineyard that produces the Giulia Negri wines. This elegant 2007 Barolo is, typically for the vintage, quite forward with ripe plummy fruit and some minerality although the tannins are noticeable until it is enjoyed with some mature Parmesan cheese.

Critic Reviews:
"Ripe, partly dried and preserved red berries and plums on the nose, dried vegetal notes, some undergrowth and leather, delicate mineral and roasted notes. Sweetish, creamy, very ripe fruit on the palate, very fine and fairly prominent tannins, delicate hint of chocolate, earthy and mineral notes, light vegetal notes and some undergrowth, some preserved pears, loads of substance, very full-bodied, good depth, very good, long finish." 91/100 = Outstanding (wein-plus.com)

"This new-comer Barolo shows beautiful intensity and an inky dark appearance. The aromas are soft and yielding with sweet tones of wild berry and exotic spice woven between leather, tobacco and licorice." 93/100 (Wine Enthusiast)
