Tasting Notes: From the Giacosa vineyard. The oak used in the 2006 is almost indiscernible. Deep red with hints of orange. An intense nose with notes of violet and coffee. Rich and long with tar and earth counter-balancing the brambly fruit. A powerful wine and surprisingly forward for a wine from the great 2006 vintage but this clearly has a long future. | Drinking Dates: 2014 to 2021+ | Cépagement: 100% Nebbiolo | Upbringing: Aged two years in 45% barrique, 55% botti which are blended together before bottling. | ABV: 14.5% | Food: Rich foods, espcially game birds or grilled meats, mature cheese |
