Tasting Notes:
More than ever, this wine has all the purity of the vintage coupled with all the intensity of the appellation. I have long been a fan of Raymond Usseglio’s wines as they are unmistakably Châteauneuf without being overdone as too many are in the pursuit of high ratings. The 2007 has the edge of previous vintages with plenty of red and black fruit, liquorice and spice.

Critic Reviews:
"This staunch traditionalist has turned out absolutely sensational 2007s... muscular and full-bodied with tremendously powerful aromatic profiles of melted liquorice, incense, fig, black cherries, black currant, pepper and spice." 93/100 (Wine Advocate)

"Shows the ripeness of the vintage, with an almost heady core of raspberry, boysenberry and blackberry fruit. But then racy acidity, a snappy licorice edge and sweet tobacco and spice notes stretch out the grip-filled finish." 92/100 (Wine Spectator)

'Deep purplish crimson right out to the rim. Very opulent ripe purple berries on the nose. Then pretty dry tannins. This is still very youthful. ' 16.5/20 (Jancis Robinson MW)
