Tasting Notes: “Vieilles Vignes” is 100% Grenache aged in some new oak. After a few months in bottle it will already be drinkable with its Burgundian purity (something to do with it being another mono-varietal, perhaps) the fruit is more red than black and the richness masks the spiciness of this grape. The oak sheen adds another dimension of sweet vanilla but in such a good vintage this is not overdone.

"Very complete and satisfying. Sweetness akin to cocoa powder but very lively too and with very fine tannins. All pleasure even if not earthy. Edge of rose petal. So sweet!" 18+/20 (Jancis Robinson) |
