Tasting Notes: The slopes of Côte Bellay and of Boissey are covered by a fine soil of decomposing granite. Facing directly south, they provide an environment where low-yielding Viognier can maximise its aromatic potential. The lees stirring helps develop the variety's complex tropical fruit and floral aromas of lychee, white peach and violets and barrel fermentation in just 10% new oak controls the level of oxygenation to ensure the wine is expressive without being heavy or over-oaked. The resulting wine is very good indeed and very long.

| ABV: 14.5% | Critic Reviews: 'This shows a nice streak of acidity through the middle. Honeycomb and mineral notes alongside dried fruits and a subtle nutty note on the finish.' jancisrobinson.com: 16.5+/20 (Alistair Cooper MW
'Green-tinged yellow. Ripe, mineral-accented mango, pear nectar and peach aromas, along with a floral nuance that builds with aeration. In a fleshy, generous style, offering sappy orchard and pit fruit flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity. The floral note repeats strongly on the very long, focused finish, which leaves behind a sweet poached pear note.' Vinous: 91/100 |
