Michel Rocourt, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger

In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Champagne Michel Rocourt makes superb Grand and Premier Cru Champagnes exclusively from the Chardonnay grape. He bought his first plot of land in 1964 and 1975 saw the first release of Champagne Michel Rocourt with the cellar following five years later. Now there are six hectares (15 acres) planted in the Premier and Grand Cru vineyards on the slopes of Mesnil and Vertus.

We find these some of the purest, most delicious Champagnes with complexity coming with age. As the wines are not released until the base wine is at least seven years old, these wines have a head start over most of their peers!
